Mission Promise Neighborhood
Service Area: Participatory Evaluation
Project: Summative Evaluation and Implementation Study
CIC was tasked with conducting an evaluation of the Mission Promise Neighborhood, a six-year collective impact effort to improve student and family outcomes in the Mission. In addition to completing required documentation for their US Department of Education grant, MPN and their backbone organization, the Mission Economic Development Agency, wanted to understand how the initiative had affected not just students and families, but also how MEDA conducts business and the alliances between the MPN partner organizations. A few highlights can be found summarized here.
Accomplishments
Designed mixed methods evaluation protocol to take advantage of deep data set collected over the 6-year program period.
Conducted dozens of interviews with organizational partners and led another half dozen team meetings for partner cohorts to make meaning of collected data.
Provided multiple reports based on audience needs including official Department of Education reporting as well as staff, partner, and advisory board briefings

Our team had a great experience partnering with Heather on an implementation study that highlighted our successes and opportunities for growth. She was incredibly skilled at gaining the trust of our staff and partners, tailoring material for diverse audiences, and designing meetings that brought about honest conversations and insights.
